Internship Wardrobe

Hey everyone!
So I'm interning at Prevention Magazine once a week which is great! And it's so fun being able to wear heels every day.
Seeing as I'm in my second year of uni it's pretty much the time to do internships and get experience in the fields I'm interested in. I've also been looking at international exchange programs in America, specifically around California. If you've done an exchange or known someone that has, I'd love your feedback on them!

Autumn Essentials

Hey everyone! Thought I'd do a post today on outfit perfect for Autumn. It's been getting a bit colder here so I've been wearing outfits like this to uni everyday. Nothing better than an anorak and jeans combo! You can easily dress this up too with boots instead of converse. I got this quilted jumper the other day from Glassons and I love it. I'll be buying the black version soon!

Feelin Green

Yes, I know I should have ironed my shirt. In my defence those lines didn't look as pressed in in real life! Anyway, this leather skirt is becoming my favourite, so wearable and super flattering! I love my skater skirts and this is no different. Had my last day of uni today (yay!) and wore this out for drinks after. Still have my exams, but I can't believe I've nearly finished my first year of uni! Feels like I finished school yesterday, where has this year gone?!
I have a pretty exciting post coming up for you soon, any Aussie beauty gurus that follow my blog will (hopefully) be excited as I am! As you would know, the Urban Decay Naked Palette is near to impossible to get your hands on in Australia. And I've found some pretty decent dupes for less than half the price! Keep tuned because I'll be posting it within the next few days.

African print

Good morning my lovely followers! Found this top in Temt and fell in love! And of course, its printed! Wore it today down the coast with my family for a picnic, and its so comfortable! Usually clothes with cut outs aren't the most practical to wear out everyday, but this top is so lovely and perfect for the hot weather we've been having lately.

Top - Temt, Shorts - Dotti, Bag - Kardashian Kollection, Sunnies - Princess Polly, Sandals - Betts,
How has everyone been lately? Uni finishes in like 3 weeks and it can't come soon enough! I'm sure I'll be posting (and spending money) a LOT more. Had a bit of trouble finding outfits to post for you lately! I feel like I spend my life buying clothes and still have nothing to wear.
After the picnic today we went shopping and I bought a gorgeous new NP lipstick in this beautiful berry red shade, planning a post for you in the coming week!

DIY Levi shorts two ways

I don't know if other people have a similar problem, but I really struggle finding shorts that suit me! I really like high-waisted styles, but at the same time I like them to be a decent length. And in the shops currently it seems that you can only have one or the other; the high-waisted ones show your bum cheeks and the modest length ones are not flattering for those love handles.
Its the same with the ripped shorts too.. They never have the perfect rips.
Writing this, I realise I'm probably being OCD, but why is it so hard to find the perfect pair of shorts!
While attempting to solve this issue, I went on a trip to Vinnies (but I'm sure every op-shop would have them), and picked up two pairs of old fashioned Levi jeans. I then spent the day cutting and bleaching them

Bleached:
With this pair, I cut them off to my desired length, and then soaked them in a tub of bleach. I rotated them at 5 minute intervals to make sure the colour was consistant. Also remember if you're doing this, they will look darker when wet - so don't wait until the colour looks perfect to stop bleaching. Also, they will continue to lose colour when you remove them - to solve this, you can soak them in a bucket of vinegar. Once they were dried I frayed the bottoms by pulling the threads loose.

Original colour and cuffed:
These ones were pretty simple, just cut them to the desired length (a bit longer to leave room for the cuff), and then frayed them a bit and folded over the edges!

(I know the cuffs here aren't even but thats just my bad folding skills!)
What do you guys think of them? And which ones do you prefer?
I'd love to hear of different ways you've customised your old clothes, or someone elses!

Babydoll

Hello to my lovely readers! Picked up this dress down the coast yesterday and I couldn't wait to share it with you! I was shopping in Ally, which is known for copying certain aspects or prints of more well known brands. This dress reminded me so much of one on Urban Outfitters by Pins and Needles which I've lusted over foreverrrr, but I didn't want to fork out $70 for a dress I couldn't try on. Definitely think I hit the jackpot when I found this for $20! After looking at the Urban Outfitters version when I got home, it's not as close as match as I thought but its still pretty similar. To be honest I actually prefer the colours and sleeves on mine!

Dress - Ally (on sale $20), similar (here) at Urban Outfitters, Shoes - Betts
Although I know it's a total rip off to the total designers, I do love finding a good copy of a MinkPink dress or another expensive piece of clothing (cause lets face it, I buy so many clothes I can't afford it!) Another favourite store for this would be Valleygirl.
Do you guys like finding a bargin like this?!
Ps.. I'm trying really hard to stop buying patterned clothes! I promise!!

Welcome to the jungle

I couldn't believe it when I found this dress in shops! I had seen a similar bodycon version on Charissa Rae, and a shirt version on Amy Valentine, but both were sold out by the time I saw their posts. Of course, I loved the print. Check out the hat I got today from Rubi shoes! I've wanted a floppy hat for so long, but was a bit hesitant of getting a felt one as I thought it'd be too hot for spring. I've also ordered a natural straw colour one from their online store which I'm waiting to arrive.

Dress - Blossom (also at City Beach), Sandals - Betts, Hat - Rubi
It was so hot today that I was even too hot in this outfit, but that hat would be perfect for the beach.
Do you guys like it? What do you think of the print? Can't wait to hear from you :)

Golden elephants

Hey everyone! Have another post for you today, in my favourite dress! Don't know why I saved this post for so long. It's another beauty from MinkPink, one of my favourite brands, who make the most adorable dresses. And I love anything elephants!
I usually wear it with a belt because it's more flattering, as the style is very smock like. I do love myself a smock dress but they really don't do your figure any favours!

Dress - MinkPink 'Pride Lands' Dress
The back's not the most flattering thing, especially with the belt, but if I'm at uni or something I'll wear a black cami underneath so it hides some of that white!
I usually pair it with a plain black bag and black sandals, as the pattern is so busy I don't like to draw attention away from it.
How would you style it?

Confessions of a shopaholic

Surprise Surprise.. I went shopping and bought more aztec! Just the one thing I didn't need! But I could't resist when I saw this in Glassons.. and it was on sale!
I really better stop spending so much if I ever want to go overseas. But pretty clothes are so tempting!
I definitely admit that I'm a shopaholic! Good thing I work so much and never spend over $100 on an item of clothing!
How do you like the cream wall behind me? I went for a drive this morning and thought it looked perfect for a post, and a different look to my usual. It's so much easier to see what I'm wearing than if I'm standing in front of random greenery.

Jacket - Glassons, Necklace - Rubi, Top - Sportsgirl, Bracelet - Lovisa, Skirt - Hipster
On my wish list on the moment is a black dress, preferably a shift dress. I find that's the only kind of item that goes with patterned jackets like this.
How would you style this jacket? I'd love to hear from you!

Shades of purple

Hi lovelies, thought I'd do a post today on this cute ombre necklace I picked up from Diva for like $3 during a sale. I was so happy as I'd seen them when they were $40 and couldn't justify spending so much on a purple necklace! I love the style of it, it reminds me of the craft we used to do in primary school.  I love the fact that it's ombre too, and the purple shades are gorgeous. Today I just paired it with a plain black tee from Sportsgirl, but for a coloured necklace it can definitely be worn with lots of different styles.

Moroccan print

Hey everyone! Before posting these photos, I thought about all the OOTD posts I've done so far. And realised I've worn some kind of print in every one of them. Oops! I'm obsessed I know! I love this jacket, I saw it on sites like Hello Molly and Esther, but it was so expensive! As much as I loved it, I wasn't sure how much wear I'd get out of it for $80. But when we were shopping in Melbourne I found it in a little boutique for like, $29! Bargin!
It was pretty cold today so I just wore it with black jeans and black sandals, but when the weather gets warmer I'll pair it with a black shift or smock dress.

The colour is much brighter in real life, it looks a bit washed out in the photos because of the lighting. But the pattern is adorable!
Today I went shopping and got some great new clothes and some nail polishes. I'll do a post on them later!

Bandana print

This morning I caught up with my beautiful friend Phoebe and went to Vinnies and then had a cute picnic in the park. I wore one of my favourite skirts, I got it from General Pants a while ago but I'm still in love with the print. The material also feels really nice, and it's an easy low fuss outfit which still looks stylish.
Feels so good to be able to wear summer clothing everyday! As much as I love jeans, it's so much easier to find outfits for warmer weather for uni and what not.

Top - Glassons, Skirt- Don't Ask Amanda via General Pants, Shoes - Betts, Bag - Colette
Although our Vinnies trip was less than successful, we had such a nice day, the weather was 27 degrees and was so nice being outside for a change!
I'm thinking I might do a post soon of the best clothes I've found in Vinnies, would you guys be interested in looking at that?
